Last night, Great Britain’s Josh Kerr stormed to victory in the men’s 1500m final at the 2023 World Athletics Championships. But it wasn’t just his running that captured our attention.

The 25-year-old is sponsored by the sunglasses brand Oakley, and has been competing in a pair of red-framed shades throughout the World Champs in Budapest.

‘I enjoy racing in them,’ Kerr previously told The Times. ‘I’m able to look around and no one knows where I’m looking.’

He also said he believes that his £200 sunglasses provide a mental edge by hiding his eyes. For last night’s final, he was due to swap his red rims for a special gold pair offered by Oakley. In the end, though, he decided not to tempt fate and ended up sticking with his tried and tested red pair.
